Steve LowdenChairman

A petroleum engineer with over 30 years' experience in the international oil and gas sector, Steve has a track record of building energy businesses throughout the world, including large-scale gas projects. He was previously executive director and officer of Marathon Oil and Premier Oil.

At Premier, Steve held a number of roles including Executive Director of Development and Production, Business Development and Exploration. He added more than one billion boe of new resource, and operated and managed multiple emerging market oil and gas projects from discovery to production. At Marathon, Steve was President of Marathon International, Head of Corporate Business Development and Head of the Global Integrated Gas business adding new operations including businesses in Russia, Norway and Equatorial Guinea.

David StoopinChief Executive Officer

David was appointed CEO in June 2017. A petroleum engineer with over 30 years' experience, he was previously responsible for NewAge’s M&A, corporate finance and business development activities.

Prior to joining NewAge, David was Commercial Manager for BPs' Ultra Deep Water developments in Angola. Another key role at BP was as manager of the company's global upstream mergers and acquisitions strategy. His earlier career was spent as Project Manager for International New Ventures at Premier Oil and Senior Field Engineer with Schlumberger.

Pascal NicodemeChief Financial Officer

Pascal Nicodème joined NewAge in 2015 and has over 17 years' experience in the oil and gas industry and banking. He began his career as a field geophysicist for Total. Pascal joined Perenco in 2002, where he ran the group cost and management control and subsequently became group finance manager, then deputy general manager of the UK branch. Pascal then joined the banking industry and held management positions in the Reserve Based Lending and Project Finance and Advisory teams of several banking institutions, including Natixis, Credit Agricole CIB and Standard Chartered Bank.

Pascal holds an engineering degree from the Ecole Polytechnique, a MSc from the French Institute of Petroleum and a MBA from INSEAD.

Dave LoranExecutive Vice President Cameroon & Congo Brazzaville

A petroleum engineer with over 40 years' experience, Dave leads the Company's technical development of its portfolio and manages the Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon businesses. Prior to joining NewAge Dave held a number of senior positions at Marathon Oil, including President of Marathon Petroleum Russia.

He led Marathon's operations and developments in Russia and was a key player in obtaining operatorship of the initial phase of the Sakhalin II project. Dave built extensive relationships at all levels of the Russian government and his work was recognised through the Friendship Award of Russia - the highest accolade any foreigner can receive in Russia.

Phil ArundelExecutive Vice President Kurdistan & Nigeria

A petroleum engineer with over 30 years' international experience, Phil manages NewAge's Kurdistan and Nigeria businesses as well as overseeing the Company's global operations.

Phil has extensive experience in the upstream oil and gas business, starting with 10 years at Shell and then holding senior staff positions at Petrofina, Premier Oil and Suntera.  

Phil has also served as a Senior Consultant for BP, Team Energy and Newfield and during this period worked on several projects in the North Sea, Middle East and Asia. He joined NewAge in 2009

David PeelExecutive Vice President Geoscience & New Business

David has over 30 years' experience in the oil and gas industry and is responsible for all exploration and new venture activities. He was previously Business Development and Technical Director at Lukoil based in London and focusing on Africa and the Middle East. Prior to that he held senior posts at Hess in Europe, Africa and Southeast Asia. His early career was spent as a geoscientist with Petrofina and Anadarko.

He holds an MSc in Petroleum Geology from Imperial College, London and an MBA from the University of Surrey.

Mike WachtelLegal Counsel

Michael acts as General Counsel and is a senior equity partner and the head of the Upstream Oil & Gas practice at Clyde & Co. He has practiced law in the international oil and gas industry for more than 20 years and has advised on corporate and asset M&A transactions, initial public offerings, commercial and joint venture agreements, equity and debt financings and regulatory matters for both listed and unlisted oil and gas companies. He also has broad experience of upstream oil and gas transactions throughout Africa.
Michael is a member of the AIPN and former Chairman of the UK Energy Lawyers Group Committee and holds an M. Eng in Mechanical Engineering.

Anupam JainExecutive VP Planning & Commercial

Anupam joined NewAge in 2008 and is responsible for corporate planning, corporate finance and transactions. He has over 12 years' experience in the oil and gas business and was previously the Commercial Manager for Cameroon and Congo-Brazzaville.

He is an engineer by training and holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management.

Robi SignorelliVP Corporate Affairs

Robi has over 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas industry and is responsible for human resources, administration, corporate communications and information technology. Prior to joining NewAge in 2014, he founded and managed a specialist HR and executive search consultancy focusing exclusively on the upstream oil and gas sector. His early career was spent as a petroleum engineer with Enterprise Oil, Santos and Schlumberger in Latin America, North Africa, South East Asia and Australia.

He holds an MSc in Petroleum Engineering from Imperial College, London.
